Barcrest History
The company was founded in Manchester in 1968. At first, the company specialised in the production of arcade machines, bingo and slot machines for land-based facilities. These models were successful in pubs, bars and small casinos. It was in the late '70s when Barcrest started developing digital slot machines. Even modern-day players have commented on the relatively high number of bonus options that this developer’s video slots offer including an exclusive set of features.
Over a thirty year period, Barcrest has created a number of interesting video slots and becoming significantly more active after 1998. This is when the company merged with the world famous International Game Technology (IGT) corporation. It was a step which gave them access to the international markets so they were able to compete with other developers. This is when Barcrest became actively engaged in the production of new video slots. A number of its games gained popularity and the slot machines released then still attract players to this day.
Another turning point in the company's corporate history took place in 2011. Scientific Gaming took ownership of Barcrest after purchasing it from IGT. The Head Office for Scientific Gaming is at the same location as Barcrest's in the city of Feltham in the UK at this address: SG House, 1 Dukes Green Avenue, Feltham, TW 14 OLR., info@sg-gaming.com.
